This is big

Dawson cute in blue

Dawson wrote his second ever spelling test. This is big...really big! It is a physically exhausting task for him. I am in the process of reading 5 different books on dyslexia...I haven't found anything miraculous, yet. But, I keep reading. Somebody just tell me what the magic solution is. The least painful or most effective method. I have a couple of websites I still need to look into. This is a journey, a very challenging one.

Homemaker Badge

bread mosaic

Making bread is a right of passage to the fraternal order of homemakers. So, in my head I have this list of what is required of us homemakers and bread is on there. You just have to know how to make a beautiful loaf to earn your HOMEMAKERS badge. This was my first attempt and it turned out all right. The crust was a little darker than I would have liked. When I put butter and honey on it, it passed the test, but it could use some work. It is an art, a talent this bread making, and by darn I will master it and earn that blue ribbon at the next county fair.

Project 365 Nalder Family

I am so excited to start this new blog, but a little intimedated at the same time. I have seen it done a couple of times and just LOVE the idea. So, here it goes. I can't wait to see all of our adventures, memories, and growth over the next year. Here's to a photo a day!

Skating

One of the reasons I love being a mom is recreating adventures and memories that I experienced as a child. I remember skating on the cannel just south of where I lived. We would haul all our hockey gear out there and skate for hours. Life in a small town is a little different then living in the big city, you just can't ice skate anywhere....unless your the Nalders. We found this cute little pond last year while on a bike ride. The fishing isn't very good, but the ice skating is!

This is what I get for skating circles around them....they ganged up on me

But, I took them out...

they all went down

or so I thought....and then this little girl appeared and came ready to attack with snowballs

but I had a better weapon.....Hot Chocolate!

Our skate adventure couldn't have been any better...well, yes it could of...we need to get Dave, Skye and Grandpa some skates.

A special thanks to my talented photographer who was on location...Dave you ROCK the lens! A big huge mushy MWAH!

Trying to find a pond in this city where we can ice skate, have a fire, and drink hot cocoa! Do you think a place like this exists?

Dear Santa Baby:
Now, I am willing to take on all of these creatures under 1 circumstance, that you move me to a farm...Yup, you heard me a farm where these animals can run wild...kids included. Deal?!
